REFRACTIVE CHANGES

Myopia (the eye is larger than normal), hyperopia (the eye is smaller than normal) and astigmatism (the cornea is rather round, is oval), are caused by differences in length or in the shape of the eye. Presbyopia (or eyestrain), on the other hand, occurs when the lens, due to age, loses the ability to focus on objects near it.

Treatment: glasses, contact lenses or Lasik surgery.
