When there is pus between the lamina papyracea and the peri-orbit: proptosis and displacement of the eyeball down and out, decreased ocular mobility.

Treatment: antibiotic therapy as in preseptal cellulitis, usually heals with conservative treatment, in children under 10 years of age. If no resolution in 24-48 hours, surgical drainage of the abscess and affected sinuses is performed.
