It is due to an increase in the anteroposterior diameter of the eye and the image is not formed in the retina, but rather before, producing a cloudy vision, it is generally congenital.

Treatment: glasses (biconcave lenses bring the image back to focus on the retina), contact lenses, or excimer laser surgery.
