It is a chronic inflammatory disease of the skin that involves the pilosebaceous units (hair follicle and sebaceous glands), characterized by the formation of comedowns, papules, pustules, nodules, and scars, which appear mainly on the face, upper part of the trunk and sometimes extremities.
Treatment: In the eyes, acne can manifest as recurrent styes, seborrheic-type blepharitis, corneal erosions, or conjunctivitis and is treated according to the manifestation it presents.
