It is an allergic-type inflammatory response of the palpebral conjunctiva characterized by an increase in hyperemia and an elevation of the papillae. Irritation, blurred vision, itching, excessive movement of contact lenses, increased secretion, and extra body sensation.
Treatment: A) Avoid wearing contact lenses for a few weeks, this gives the inside of the eye time to recover. B) Limit the amount of time you wear contact lenses per day. C) Use eye drop or anti-inflammatory medications to decrease swelling and itching. D) Change the type of contact lenses you wear. E) Avoid lens solutions with preservatives.
