SUPRANUCLEAR OPHTHALMOPLEGY

It is a disorder of the oculomotor system, which produces the inability to voluntarily move the eyeball, it is produced by the paralysis of one or more eye muscles. Its origin is: mitochondrial disease, diabetes Mellitus, lesions of the ocular motor nuclei of the brainstem, of the ocular motor nerves (III, IV, or VI) or of the supra ocular nuclei.

Treatment: Treatment depends on the cause and symptoms of supranuclear ophthalmoplegia.
