SEVENTH NERVE PALSY

It is usually idiopathic, it is sudden, unilateral, it presents facial hemiparesis of the upper and lower part of the face. Additional studies (e.g., chest radiograph, serum ACE concentration) are performed to diagnose treatable causes.

Treatment: lubrication of the eye, intermittent use of an eye patch, and, for idiopathic facial paralysis, corticosteroids.
