VITREOUS HEMORRHAGE

When there is an effusion inside the eye called the humor or vitreous body. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the most common causes.

Treatment: As it occurs for very diverse causes, a single treatment cannot be established for all patients, depending on the origin of the bleeding, its severity, and personal circumstances. If it is mild, it can resolve spontaneously, although full recovery of vision can take several months. On other occasions, after a waiting period, a vitrectomy is recommended. Depending on the cause that has originated, it will be necessary to add other treatments, such as the application of laser or the administration of intravitreal injections, as well as hair fortifiers.
