EPISCLERITIS

It is an inflammatory condition in the epiesclera, it is more frequent in women and in young and middle-aged adults. According to its macroscopic appearance, episcleritis can be classified as simple or nodular. The simple presentation, also called diffuse, is the most frequent.

Treatment: Most patients do not require treatment or respond quickly to topical anti-inflammatory treatment and it is not a threat to vision. They are idiopathic and are not associated with underlying immune disorders, but some could be associated with numerous systemic diseases.
