Pinguecula is a "yellowish patch" or a "bump" on the conjunctiva, which is seen with the naked eye as a grain of rice, most often on the side near the nose. It is a benign accumulation of proteins and fat, unlike the pterygium, the pinguecula does not grow on the cornea.

Treatment: sunglasses and anti-inflammatory, only if it is very inflamed.
