EYELID TUMOR

 

They are tumors located around the eyelid or in the orbit, there is also a variety of malignant tumors that can affect the periocular region, orbital tumors are rare, and most are benign and slowly evolving.

Treatment: consists of removing the malignant tumor from minimally incision surgery and, depending on the case, the help of chemotherapy or radiotherapy applied in coordination with an oncologist may be necessary. They can involve the removal of a significant part of the eyelid, so the oculoplastic surgeon must subsequently apply reconstruction techniques to restore the appearance and eyelid function. Malignant lesions can reappear over time, in the same place or in its proximity, so it is advisable to carry out regular follow-up after surgery.
