If it becomes chronic or recurrent episodes occur, surgery is necessary and the most used procedure is dacryocystorhinostomy, which consists of creating a new duct for drainage of the lacrimal sac and nose. In the case of the treatment of dacryocystitis of the newborn, the procedures can be conservative and / or innocuous (compression of the lacrimal sac) or surgical through the probing of the lacrimal duct.
