Foreign body sensation, tearing, history of trauma. Conjunctival foreign body, with or without rust ring. Symptoms: Conjunctival injection, eyelid edema, mild anterior chamber reaction. There may be a small infiltrate surrounding a foreign body in the conjunctiva; it is usually sterile. Vertically oriented linear abrasions may indicate a foreign body under the upper eyelid.

Treatment: mechanical removal of the object and adding drops of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.
