It is an alteration of the eyelashes, which grow abnormally towards the eye, causing them to rub against the cornea and conjunctiva, causing tearing, erosions, irritation, and even corneal ulcers. The edge of the eyelid has a normal position, unlike what occurs in entropion, where the edge of the eyelid is folded towards the inside of the eye.
Treatment: a) Electrolysis: electricity is used to permanently remove hair, although effective, it takes a long time and can be painful. b) Cryosurgery: it removes the eyelashes and follicles by freezing them, it is effective, but some complications can occur.
